Atlanta Pest Control

It is that time of year again, the time to look out for wintertime pests in Atlanta.  While you might think that the winter is a time you are free and clear from bugs and rodents, think again. In fact, winter is the time when pests decide to hunker down and make their homes--inside your home.

Mice and spiders are the most common pests that you will find in your home this winter. Just ask an Atlanta pest control expert if you are uncertain.

MiceMice will look for a way into your home as soon as it gets cold.  Once they get inside they will destroy food, leave droppings, and keep you awake at night.

Mice will leave signs of where they have been in your home, such as they pathways they take in and out. Follow these clues to figure out where they are living (and how to get rid of them).

When trying to figure out if you do have mice or not, look for droppings, urine trails, chewing, rub marks and small holes in your walls.

To get rid of mice, call Brookhaven pest control.  Additionally, eliminate clutter.   Mice love to nest in dark, quiet areas. They prefer things that have gone unattended for a while. This is why they love areas like the basement or the attic.

You will also want to seal up any holes that could give mice access into your home.  Secure the bottoms of doors that lead to the outside.

Keep leftovers in airtight containers, and try not to leave anything on a counter that they can gnaw through.

SpidersWhile most of the spiders that you will find in your home are harmless, they are still not pests that most people welcome.

Spiders are just like any other pest, they do not like the cold and will come inside during winter.   Typically you will encounter wolf spiders, jumping spiders, and cellar spiders.

The best way to get rid of, and prevent, spiders in the house, is to vacuum.  Vacuum any areas where you typically find spiders.  Make sure to vacuum areas that are harder to reach. These areas are often overlooked so spiders can make their homes here.  This also includes under furniture.

Also make sure to check your firewood when you bring it in. Spiders often make their homes in the wood, and then you transport them inside without noticing.

Afraid of seeing spiders or mice this winter?  Contact Brookhaven pest control!

The one time a year that everyone looks forward to, summer, is also when all the pests come out to fill our homes and pets with their babies. Atlanta pest control companies are here to help. So, how do you keep these unwanted pests like fleas, flies, and other pests out of your home and off your pets?

House pests

Many little things fly around looking for any way into your home, house flies and fruit flies are among the most annoying of these. Flies seem to come in looking for food, and multiply before your eyes, so what do you do? If you want to do it yourself, here are a few tips:

*First, you must clean anything that may attract them. This can be one of the most difficult steps, as flies can feed on anything.
*Try to find any areas in your home that they can get in, including window screens, open doors, or any other tiny areas that lead outdoors.
*If the flies are a big problem you may want to get some fly traps, this will at least catch the ones flying around to cut back on their reproduction.

When you can't get rid of these flying pests it's time to call a professional. What can they do?

* Help you identify and understand the type of fly, identify areas where the flies reproduce, and come up with ways to prevent them in the future.
* Additional insecticides are readily available to them. Each type of fly is different, and not all can be removed using the same treatment.

Pet Pests

While we all love our pets, they can be a huge culprit to many pests like fleas and ticks. Once they hitch a ride inside, it can be a huge problem for you and the well-being of your pets. Prevention is always number one, but if that's not enough here's what you can do:

*Due to an increased risk of Lyme disease, anemia, along with skin rashes, always get a vet involved if your pet's pest problem isn't solved with regular treatment.
*During/after any pet pest issues, you should wash and treat all places that your pet comes into contact with.

No matter what type of pest problem you have, prevention is the key, but when that fails a professional may be necessary. They can help

Quality Pest Control GUARANTEED!

The presence of rodents, an infestation of termites or roaches in a home can be a nuisance and repulsive, stirring up a feeling of “invasion” in your personal space. It is an uneasy feeling of not knowing the source of where “they” are coming from.  Sadly, it only takes one embarrassing horrific incident of mice darting across the floor or a roach running behind a refrigerator to discourage folks from visiting your home ever again.  This includes possibly not being able to sell your home because of an untreated problem of termites; these critters can weaken the structure of a home and your chances to make a sale.

Be it a respected established law firm in an historic wooden frame structure, four star restaurant in the heart of the city or even a popular fast food joint, the mere site of scattering cockroaches, marching ants or even a constant swarm of mosquitoes near the door entrance will drive away customers.  All these examples can heavily affect the revenue of any established, new or growing business. And with word of mouth and social media, it only takes one negative word about these unwanted critters being present to give your business a bad reputation.

The above scenarios may seem an exaggerated truth, but in reality are all too common. But luckily all these pests can be totally eradicated by hiring not just an exterminator, but a company with over a century experience in the Pest Control Industry with guarantee results, like North Georgia's best Atlanta pest control company.

When you have a pest control problem you just can’t handle yourself. We recognize that selecting a pest control service is as important as choosing a doctor or hiring a lawyer. The ideal pest control company is established, certified and accredited in the state of Georgia. An ideal pest control company will guarantee their work, but not pressure you into signing a contract. The perfect pest control company will have a true understanding of the nature of the pest and how to find the extent of a possible infestation.

We inspect your premise to identify the source of the problem, outline our recommendations and discuss in detail the best treatment to solve your pest control problem.  For free!

Bottom line, the track record of any pest control company speaks for itself.  Our guarantee to eliminate your problem is based on our attitude of treating your home or place of business building like a part of your family. When it comes to your home or business, we take pride in our work, guaranteed!

Alpharretta Pest Control

Many people are looking for general pest control in Alpharetta Georgia, and are worried about doing the task themselves, versus hiring a professional.

While it is possible to do it oneself, there are a myriad of choices out there, and not all of them work for the same pests.  A professional will assess the situation, noting the types of pests in the home, and will then specially treat the home for said pests.  With a professional, there is a guarantee that the pests will not come back in a specific time period, and if they do, the professionals come back and retreat.

For those worried about pets, and pest control, there are a number of pest control products on the market that are actually very harmful to domestic pets, and these can even cause death if eaten (oftentimes, dogs can choke on ant or roach traps, or get upset stomachs from eating poison).

Professional pesticides, however, are typically administered at just a one percent concentrate, which are effective enough to kill small insects, but pose no threats to animals or people.  Additionally, the droplets do not remain in the air long enough to be a threat to breathing.

Even the residue that is left behind is only toxic to bugs, not your pets.

Those who are looking for general pest control in Alpharetta, Georgia, who want to make sure their pets are kept safe from harmful chemicals or traps, should consider calling a professional.

It doesn't matter if the pest problem comes in the form of ants, mice, or cockroaches. As soon as the pesky little critters move into your residence or your business they need to be dealt with. Some of these pests carry diseases that can be harmful to humans.
Pests also have the ability to do a great deal of damage to buildings, particularly if the population has a chance to multiply.
Pacific Pest Solutions

When it comes to getting rats out of a building, Pacific Pest Solutions is one of the best commercial pest control companies in the Marietta area. The professionals will look at the building and come up with a way to remove the rats from the premise that won't harm anyone else. They'll also determine how the rats are getting into the building and seal the space. After the rats have been removed from the building, Pacific will clean up any mess the flying rodents made. Pacific Pest Solutions provides a variety of pest removal services.

PPS Does Fleas

Anyone who has house pets runs the risk of having a flea infestation. Giving the pet a flea bath takes care of the insects that are on the pet but won't get rid of the insects that remain in the house. Again, Pacific Pest Solutions has a friendly and professional team who will come into the building and quickly kill all of the fleas. They'll also advise you on things you can do to prevent future infestations.

A Variety of Services

Pacific Pest Solutions provides a variety of services. In addition to servicing homes, the company also provides  commercial pest control in the Marietta area. They are considered the best company to deal with when it comes to termite problems. In addition to handling destructive insects, anyone who has squirrels or rodents trying to move into a building can contact Pacific Pest Solutions and take advantage of the company's rodent exclusion service.

Our Norcross pest control location found this critter pictured above.  Scary looking, but it's just a catepillar on its way to becoming a moth.

Wasp or Hornet

7/14/2013

Technically, a hornet is a wasp. However, a wasp might not be a hornet.  How is this possible, you ask? Well, let me explain. A wasp is defined as any insect of the order Hymenoptera and suborder Apocrita, excluding ants or bees.

Which could be a hornet, or any number of other things.  So, begs the question, "What's the difference between a bee and a wasp?"

For starters, Bees tend to be more social, have hairy bodies and subsist on a diet of pollen and nectar.  Wasps or parasitic, predators, or scavengers.  They feed off of other insects and have considerably less body hair.  For further reading and a better understanding, try this out!

Hornets are the largest eusocial wasps. Hornets and wasps, unlike a honeybee, do not lose their stingers once they have stung you.  Meaning they can sting multiple times and continuously inject anyone or thing with their venom.

If you are experiencing hornets and any other type of wasp, please call on your local Atlanta pest control to do the job that needs doing.
